Explore Iceland

In a recent trip our creative director, Gina Wilkes explored Reykjavik, Iceland to test out some of our new bags before we launch them at the end of March. She’s told us all about her trip and the best places to visit!

After arriving around lunchtime, we checked into our hotel. We chose to stay in center hotel Midgardur. With a central location it was a quick walk to the city centre to explore all the local shops and bars.

If your exploring the City, visit the iconic Hallgrimshirkja church. Standing at 74m high it’s one of the tallest structures in Iceland. With its fascinating history and beautiful architecture, stop off here and see the views from the top!

If your looking for a bite to eat, the city offers lots of stylish settings. We stopped off at ROK. A quirky and stylish restaurant, with a great menu!

Our day started early as we were booked on to the Golden Circle tour. We pre-booked our tickets the night before through Reykjavik Excursions. The tour highlights included the impressive Gullfoss waterfalls and Geyser spring. A must see on your trip!!

By evening, we ate at a great little Italian restaurant, RossoPomodoro. Just a 10 minute walk from our hotel.

We headed out on our Northern Lights tour around 8pm where we had a 1hour transfer to the destination. Unfortunately, we weren’t lucky enough to see the northern lights due to the weather. You are offered a free trip back during your stay if you don’t see them, but for us we just didn’t have the time!

After a lovely and relaxed morning we headed out to the Blue Lagoon around 2pm. You MUST pre-book this before you go if you want a guaranteed spot!

The Blue Lagoon itself was just what you imagine. The milky blue water is filled with minerals and silica leaving your skin feeling amazing! With sauna/ steam room facilities, a swim up bar and options for an in-water massage we were left feeling tranquil yet invigorated. Thats until you have to step out of the water…FREEZING!

Once we had spent around two hours in the lagoon, it was time for food! We had booked into the restaurant located on site called LAVA . With a great menu it was a lovely way to finish the trip.

Our last evening was spent in some great bars . Our favourite stop for drinks was Lewbowski Bar. With a great casual vibe and atmosphere, I would recommend trying one of their signature White Russians! With over 20 to choose from you will definitely find your favourite!

Our last day we spent exploring Reykjavik in shops, cafes and restaurants. Laugavegur is the main shopping street if your after boutiques and nordic interior shops. After a quick souvenir stop and bite to eat, we headed off to the airport!

Overall, a great trip! I would love to visit again in the summer months and experience there 24hours of daylight, maybe there would be slightly less rain!

For this trip I travelled with two new bags from our newest collection that will be launched at the end of March.

For hand luggage my partner used the Mens Ashford holdall and I took the Womens Ellesmere cross body bag. Both bags were practical and stood up to the test!

Spacious and easy to wear, I can’t wait for the new collection to be available this March!
